This 30-minute course serves as the foundation for the series of courses. It includes the purpose of the ACHIEVE program. The course teaches the basic concepts to implement a coordinated chronic disease prevention and health promotion plan through policies, systems, and environmental change strategies at a community level. Upon course completion, participants will understand the basis for ACHIEVE and, through specific examples used by other communities, be able to apply knowledge, tools, and skills to make their agency a catalyst for change
